The Floating Opportunity in Colombias' Katrina

I would like to thank Mr. Cameron Sinclair and the Huffington Post for providing somehow the coverage this humanitarian and environmental catastrophe is lacking in the U.S. mainstream media. Even if it stopped raining now, the difficulties wouldn't stop there, since 2 Million colombians have been already damaged by the heavy rains and the floods.

Anyway, fortunately the government and authorities are aiming big this time and they really want to tackle several problems underlying and predating the current state of affairs. There's already talks of abandoning old settlements and starting new, safer and better ones.

The U.S. aid have been a major factor to stop the flooding in several areas, I have to add. Those americans who are helping in the engeneering tasks have already realized this emergency wasn't any different from what the Katrina hurricane already did in New Orleans.

To all these people, I would like to say thanks, too.

Soros: I Can't Stop a Republican "Avalanche" - NYTimes.com

I really like Dr. sipmac's look!!!
Soros: I Can't Stop a Republican "Avalanche" - NYTimes.com
How can an unrepentant, certified Nazi collaborator thrive nowadays in the USA? Well, you can champion liberal and socialist causes, as George "I-own-the-Democrat-Party" Soros does, and get away with it. The amazing thing is not that there is people out there willing and able to take his bloody money and do whatever he wants. It is not his Dr. Evil look, either. What amazes me is the double standard of the New York Times and Democrat voters that keep remarkable silent about his sinister past. Kurt Waldheim was duly stigmatized and morally sanctioned by those that are missing Mr. Moneybags to contribute to the current electoral debate that will take place in november.

George Soros, the billionaire financier who was an energetic Democratic donor in the last several election cycles but is sitting this one out, is not feeling optimistic about Democratic prospects.
Oh, poor souls. Now it's official. The Democrats are hopeless (no pun intended) and helpless. A lost cause. The tycoon is stepping out of this one, because he has more common sense than his sponsored sock puppets.
Mr. Soros, a champion of liberal causes, has been directing his money to groups that work on health care and the environment, rather than electoral politics. Asked if the prospect of Republican control of one or both houses of Congress concerned him, he said: “It does, because I think they are pushing the wrong policies, but I’m not in a position to stop it. I don’t believe in standing in the way of an avalanche.”
Translation: I'm too busy drilling and finding oil in Brazil to take care of you. Besides, it is making me richer. You are now costing me real money, and you didn't even manage to keep people interested in voting Democrat.

Well don't count on him stepping outside politics forever. This is the guy that tried to sink the french currency by his own means. Soros has a lot of power. Which brings me to the question:

Ever noticed how liberals always point their fingers to those "corporate whores", a.k.a Republicans, but never say a word of how Democrats receive money from Wall Street and... yes, Soros?

PHOTO: Pre-Chicken Nugget Meat Paste, AKA Mechanically Separated Poultry

Plain gross and obscene... and it's your meal

How do you spell D-I-S-G-U-S-T-I-N-G? Once you take a look, you will never eat another piece of Soylent Pink... er, chicken nugget. I don't mind when people is trying to make a profit, but this is way beyond the line. Soaking the meat in ammonia? Reflavoring it because it tastes like... ammonia? Dyed with artificial color? Can the result of this proccess still be considered food?
UPDATE, 10/4/10: The story has been amended to reflect that although mass produced chicken nuggets at large may contain mechanically separated chicken, McDonald's famous McNuggets no longer do contain "mechanically separated poultry as defined by the federal government. The USDA now requires foods with mechanically separated poultry to be labeled as containing "mechanically separated chicken or turkey" in their ingredients lists.

Additionally, although "mechanically separated meat" may apply to turkey, chicken and pork, due to concerns over BSE, the federal government has held since 2004 that mechanically separated beef "is considered inedible and is prohibited for use as human food."

Say what you want, but I'm not sure anymore. You taste it first, buddy.

Jon Stewart Breaks Rick Sanchez Silence, Responds

Hey, I'm funnier and more telegenic!
It's always jaw-dropping when someone accuses another one of bigotry and THEN he uses one of the oldest libel tricks in the book. Now we now for sure how intolerant minorities can be (Not that there wasn't too many examples to start with). Mr. Sanchez looks like a whiner that couldn't take the heat and stand any of Mr. Stewart's jokes.

On the other side, it would have been a better (and healthier) debate to talk about political bias in the news and entertainment outlets, but it won't happen any soon.

On the brighter side, Mr. Sanchez has got a letter of recommendation for Al Jazeera.
