Conservatives most likely to pwn Twitter?

See this chart for yourself and decide. Apparently (and surprisingly), Angry Birds are for centrists and Wikipedia cannot betray its left-wing bias. Pay Pal and Amazon? Hey, you know: conservatives are pro-business. It's only logical. Tumblr and Reddit, in spite of my efforts, looks like Liberal Turfville to me. It is no surprise that Google leans left.And Pinterest, albeit a newcomer, is starting to look conservative!

Facebook loses face after IPO

The time for lame puns and schadenfreude is here! The mighty is falling down! And a lot of investors are losing a lot of money with the overpriced Facebook IPO. The stock's price is going down and here's my take:

SOPA/PIPA/CISPA: The Hydra that won't die now has Facebook approval

That Mark Zuckerberg kid of Facebook fame is eager to make even more enemies by supporting CISPA, the latest incarnation of SOPA/PIPA. He actually seems to enjoy the tagline of the PR movie "The Social Network", and it doesn't matter what his gazillion customers think. Besides, nobody seems to realize how the censorship advocates are entrenched in the goverment. Hilary Rosen might be famous now because of his dimwitted attack on Ann Romney, but she worked for the RIAA and was a staunch ally when SOPA/PIPA made their rounds thru the American Congress.

In Colombia a version of the SOPA/PIPA was already approved and the major players of the Internet were conspicuously absent of the debate. SOPA/PIPA advocates will fight this country by country. If Google, Wikipedia and all of those who oppose internet censorship don't realize that the USA will be the final chapter in this fight (not the only one), they will suffer the "death by a thousand cuts", and it will be too late for us puny internet peasants.

Rebecca Black: the newest Internet sensation deserves a chance, not scorn

Her mean gratuitous detractors want to avoid at all costs that she turns into the female version of Justin Bibier.

Self-esteem is so overrated nowadays. The only thing that keeps Charlie "Winning!" Sheen from looking like the complete pathetic loser he is the big piles of money he earned playing himself in the sitcom Two and a Half Men. That, and the fact that he may be coming back to the sitcom after being sanctimoniously fired. That said, Dr. sipmac could be less scornful of the unbelievable awful photos he finds uploaded to Facebook, but he keeps saying to himself: Ego is the fuel of that dreaded social network... and this blog, too (let's face it).

Then you should better understand why a young girl, with her parent's support, recorded a song and shoot a video and uploaded it to You Tube and unexpectedly become infamous because "Friday", her song is already dubbed "the worst song and video ever", while her video already has 35.000.000 hits and counting.
First of all, the worst song ever is "My Pal Foot Foot", by the all-girl rock band The Shaggs, considered by none other than Frank Zappa "better than The Beatles", but you better have to hear their song (and the rest of the album) to believe it. And ironically, The Shaggs had to endure a lot of pain because of all the contempt and scorn their public had for them, just like Rebecca has to do now. She's 13 years old, for crying out loud!



But, what's to loathe about this new internet sensation? Absolutely nothing. Rebecca's voice is heavily auto-tuned? So what! Most rap, reggaeton and hip-hop artists abuse this resource, too. Hey, the Glee TV Series abuses auto-tuning, too. The song and video are too amateur for your taste? Well, there is room for improvement, but the song is already okay just the way it is. It betrays lack of knowledge of how a standard hit is made, but that makes it fresh and authentic. Just for the sake of the experiment, listen first to "Love Me Do" and then "The End", by The Beatles, and then realize you're listening to the same band with six years of difference. They didn't stay the same during those six years they stayed together as the biggest band ever.

Rebecca might not become the next Madonna or Britney Spears (both of them aren't gifted with great voices, either - and they have both sold a gazillion records already), but it seems her mean gratuitous detractors want to avoid at all costs that she turns into the female Justin Bibier success story. And that reeks of plain old jealousy to me. The video shows real teenagers, with pimples and not-so-cute faces. But it shows a very cute girl following her dreams and aiming big. She is trying, and with the right advisory, she can become an accomplished pop singer.
